Paisley's First Birthday Party {Picture Dump}

Since Paisley was born I have spent a lot of time, well that might be an exaggeration but, I have spent a lot of time thinking about Paisley's first birthday and what it would be like and what the theme would be. After looking at everything party Pinterest, I decided to go with a vintage, shabby chic theme. I wanted something girly, feminine, but not over the top wild for her first birthday. What I really wanted was a tea party, but with Paisley being so little, Im thinking thats an idea for a future party ;)

I made all of the decor including the garland and my mom helped me make the tissue poms. I had a lot of fun being crafty and putting together stuff for this special party. The food we did ourselves. We had a lot of dips, salsa, chips, crackers, fruit tray, veggie, and wonton tacos. My mom made most of the dips and the tacos while several of us cut up fruits and veggies and arranged them on trays. For the dessert table, we had the cake which was made by Walmart for a whopping $6!! My mom and I made the cupcakes that were strawberry and chocolate with a vanilla and almond buttercream {recipe to come}. We also did the piping and let me just say, even after watching the youtube videos I was incredibly nervous to mess them up, but soon as I got started it was surprisingly easy! I loved how they turned out! My MIL helped me dip marshmallows and pretzels in white chocolate and sprinkled with pearls. Brownies were from Publix.

The invitations my hubby made. I told him what I wanted and he far exceeded what I had in mind. I am so pleased with how they turned out!!

I seriously could not have done this party without the help from my in-laws and my moms help for the week! Paisley had such a great time and this time there were no tears when the cake came out. She it so delicately that it made me giggle. She was completely spoiled by friends and family and I am grateful for all those that came to celebrate her big day with us!

The boots Papa & Grammy gave her :)

Yep my child is eating a crayon. It was the only way to get her to take pics

She liked the pretzel more than the cake. Silly girl!

Happy Birthday Sweet Paisley Grace!

  1. Great job! Everything turned out beautiful! As I am planning Caprilee's 1st birthday, I have a couple questions. Did you make her chalkboard poster yourself? If so, where did you get the board? They are ridiculous on Etsy and I want to make my own but not sure where to get the board. Where did you get the Watch Me Grow clips and what type of string did you use? I am not very DIY! haha! I loved everything! Happy Birthday Paisley!!

    1. Thank you!! The chalboard poster is actually black foam core board that you can buy either at Walmart or Michaels. Walmart is half the price. I used metallic markers to write on it :) The watch me grow clips are little pink clothespins Joanns and I used twine to hang a lot of things :) Hope that helps! Good luck!!
